Publication Fee (APC)

JGS is a fully open access journal. There is no submission fee. Article Processing Charges (APC) apply as detailed below, with an inclusive waiver policy.

APC Schedule

Volume 1–2 (Issues 1–2): APC = IDR 150,000 per accepted article.
Starting Volume 3 (Issue 1): APC = USD 40 per accepted article. Waiver policy applies (see below).

Notes: Fees are invoiced in USD (or IDR equivalent at the time of invoicing). There is no charge for submission, peer review, or desk evaluation.

What the APC Covers

Editorial management, double-blind peer review coordination, and plagiarism screening.
Professional copyediting, typesetting, figure handling, and reference checking.
Online hosting, long-term archiving, and platform maintenance.
Article processing (DOI registration), open access dissemination, and indexing support.

Waiver Policy

Equity

Authors from low-income countries: APC waived (USD 0). Reference: World Bank income classification.
Corresponding author with substantial academic impact: APC waived when the corresponding author’s Scopus/WoS h-index ≥ 5.
Additional needs-based waivers: considered upon justified request (e.g., unfunded research, student-led work, or institutional hardship).

How to request a waiver: Email the Editorial Office [replace-with-editor-email] at submission with (i) manuscript title, (ii) authors’ affiliations and country, (iii) brief justification, and (iv) supporting evidence (e.g., h-index profile link, funding statement).

Recognition of Reviewers

Appreciation

To acknowledge high-quality, timely reviews, JGS provides APC discount vouchers redeemable by the reviewer (as corresponding author) or transferable to their co-authors/students for a future submission.

Voucher value and validity are stated on the certificate/email.
Vouchers are stackable up to the APC amount but cannot generate cash credit.

Payment & Invoicing

When billed: after acceptance and prior to production.
Methods: bank transfer (IDR/USD) or other available channels communicated on the invoice.
Proof: send payment confirmation to the Editorial Office to expedite production.
Third-party payment: allowed (grants/institutions); please include the manuscript ID on the transfer note.

Refund & Exemptions

No APC is charged for rejected manuscripts.
If post-acceptance issues require withdrawal before production, partial/total waivers may be considered case-by-case.
Retractions for author misconduct are not refundable.
